Redstone Legal, Risk & Compliance Search are working with a global financial platform looking to hire a senior European power & carbon broker with an active book of business to join the energy team.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks
- Bring in an existing book of active contacts across European hubs, also liaising with clients globally including banks, hedge funds, utilities, market makers, fund managers, institutional, trading houses and other trading boutiques.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the FCA and to report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/or your supervisor as required.
- To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role, or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility, adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.
- Work within the energy team to look for synergies and trading opportunities with other desks.
- Reports into Head of Gas, Power, Carbon, LNG and Energy Structured Products
Key Qualifications / Experience
- 5+ years of experience in power/carbon broking, knowledge of exchanges (eg. ICE and EEX) is mandatory.
- Coverage of European power and carbon clients, active book of business, ability to travel to build relationships with clients.
- Must be FCA regulated and complying with the FCA code of conduct.
- Strong attention to detail, working within an electronic market, role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values.
- Role located in Dubai.
