Redstone Commodity Search are working with a leading soft commodity trading house that is looking for a Trade Accountant (must be qualified) to join the finance team in London, working directly with an active trading desk. This role offers broad exposure across trade accounting, month end processes, and close interaction with trading, shipping and origin teams in a fast-paced international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership and delivery of month end accounting processes including accruals, reconciliations and management reporting
- Preparation of forward books and calculation of mark to market PnL for physical trading activity
- Structured rotation across trade accounting activities to build deep commodities accounting expertise
- Ownership of monthly cash flow forecasting and support with FX exposure management
- Contribution to process improvement initiatives and implementation of new trade accounting systems
Key Experience
- Must be a qualified accountant with experience within commodity trading or a closely related environment
- Strong understanding of trade accounting and control activities within a physical trading desk
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and analyse large data sets
- Confident communicator able to work closely with trading, shipping and origin teams
- Experience using Navision and Cognos is advantageous
