Redstone Commodity Search are working with a growing fund looking to expand into the physical metals market. This role seeks a Physical Metals Trader to source and trade gold and copper from Africa, with a particular focus on Ghana and Zambia, supporting a growing Africa focused trading platform. This is a front office, hands on position with full ownership of physical spot trading, supplier relationships, export logistics and PnL.
Key Responsibilities:
• Source and execute physical spot trades in gold and copper from African producers and exporters
• Build and manage long term relationships with suppliers, brokers and trading counterparties across Ghana, Zambia and wider Africa
• Take full ownership of PnL including pricing decisions, risk assessment and trade execution
• Coordinate procurement, sales, shipping and export logistics from origin to destination
• Monitor market dynamics and conduct research to identify new sourcing and trading opportunities
Key Experience and Requirements:
• Minimum three years experience in physical metals trading, ideally across gold and copper
• Established supplier and counterparty network in Africa, particularly Ghana and Zambia
• Proven track record of profitable physical trading with clear PnL responsibility
• Strong understanding of international trade flows, contracts, logistics and compliance
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and execution skills with willingness to travel to African markets
