Redstone Commodity Search are working with an international trading house – We’re seeking a commercially driven leader with at least 10 years’ experience in commodity trading, ideally in the Austrian and/or CEE market. The role requires fluency in German and English, strong local market knowledge, and a proven network across retail, wholesale, and industry. This position is only open to candidates already based in Austria, the position is to be based in Vienna.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the trading desk for nuts, seeds, and dried fruits, with oversight of grains and oilseeds.
- Define and execute trading strategies based on market trends and customer needs in Austria and CEE.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and key accounts across retail, wholesale, and industry.
- Collaborate closely with operations, logistics, and finance teams to ensure efficient trade execution.
- Manage, mentor, and grow the local trading team to achieve sustainable business growth.
Key Experience
- Minimum 10 years in senior trading or commercial roles within the nuts, seeds, dried fruits, or related commodity markets.
- Proven track record managing trading desks or commodity business units with commercial success.
- Deep knowledge of procurement, packaging, and supply chain logistics in the EU.
- Established network of key account relationships across Austria and neighbouring markets.
- Fluency in German and English, with strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
