Redstone Commodity Search has been exclusively engaged by a rapidly growing physical commodities trading group to assist in the diversification of a dry freight trading desk; with multiple hires within a developing global steel trading team.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Negotiate, structure, and execute trades across a range of steel products and potentially raw materials for steel making, including: Flat Products: HRC, CRC, GI, PPGI, HRP.  Long Products: rebar, wric, structural sections
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with steel mills, suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and end-users in key regions such as China, India, the EU, the USA, and the Middle East, working both directly and in coordination with the company’s network of offices and representatives around the world
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding the company’s market reach and customer base.
  • Understand and manage the trade flows of steel products, ensuring optimal supply chain efficiency from production hubs to end markets.
  • Monitor and analyze global economic indicators, geopolitical events, industry trends, and technological advancements affecting the steel industry.

Key Qualifications / Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in in steel trading, with a proven track record of successful trades, market expansion, and relationship management
  • Extensive knowledge of steel products, including flat products, long products, semi-finished and raw materials, as well as their respective market dynamics.
  • Strong understanding of global steel trade flows, logistics, and supply chain management.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed to meet with suppliers, customers, and industry partners.
  • Role to be based in Geneva, or globally depending on experience and markets covered
