Redstone Commodity Search are working with an international trading house looking to onboard a senior traffic operator, with experience covering concentrates, to be based in Cape Town, SA
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end logistics and execution of international shipments of metal concentrates, including copper, zinc, and lead.
- Coordinate with suppliers, smelters, warehouses, inspection agencies, shipping lines, and freight forwarders to ensure smooth delivery and settlement.
- Prepare and review key trade documentation including sales and purchase contracts, invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, assay reports, and certificates of origin.
- Monitor shipments, handle claims or delays, and ensure compliance with international trade regulations and Incoterms.
- Work closely with traders, risk management, and finance to ensure operational accuracy and support commercial objectives.
- Maintain accurate records in internal systems and provide regular updates on shipment status and cost tracking.
- Mentor and support junior traffic team members where needed.
Candidate Requirements:
- 5–7 years of experience in traffic or operations roles within the physical commodities sector, preferably with a focus on metal concentrates.
- Strong working knowledge of international logistics, customs processes, and trade documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and trade execution platforms.
- Highly organised, proactive, and capable of managing complex logistical chains.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Cape Town, South Africa.
