Redstone Commodity Search are working with a commodity trading house (part of a larger group) based in London who are looking to build a physical gas and power business across the UK and Europe.
Key Responsibilities / Tasks
- Initially focus on building out and developing the renewable PPA off-take portfolio (wind, offshore wind, solar etc.)
- Develop the flexibility capacity portfolio through flexible assets such as thermal assets, pimped hydro storages, battery storages etc.
- Develop the company’s physical up/downstream trading positions with existing and new clients for structured gas and power products
- Collaborate with the gas, power and carbon trading teams to offer new structured products to clients
- Implementing risk management solutions to support the new portfolio
- Role reports into the Managing Director of Energy
Key Qualifications / Experience
- Senor originator with 4 – 10+ years’ experience developing new business within power, gas and PPA’s
- Understanding of renewable PPA’s business, the risks associated with balancing/shaping and mitigation implementation for the portfolio
- Experience negotiating gas storage and transportation contracts
- Strong commercial, communication, and origination skills, to develop new business as well as lead the internal development of the desk.
- Experience designing product offerings in gas, power and/or structured finance
- Located in the UK / France, or happy to relocate
