Redstone Commodity Search are working with a well-established energy trading company with a strong presence across the European refined products markets. They are seeking a Middle Distillates Trader to take ownership of physical trading activities across the NWE/ARA and Mediterranean regions. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation with active cross-border flows, where you will drive commercial performance, expand market reach, and manage a profitable trading book within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will bring at least three years of relevant trading experience, strong market relationships, and a proven ability to generate and manage P&L within the European middle distillates space.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a physical trading book focused on NWE/ARA flows or Mediterranean markets, optimising positions and identifying new commercial opportunities.
- Trade across middle distillates (e.g., gasoil, jet, diesel) with the ability to structure and execute deals across European hubs.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, end-users, shipowners, brokers and storage operators to expand market reach.
- Manage P&L, exposure, and risk within agreed commercial limits; use paper markets to hedge and optimise physical flow.
- Work closely with operations, finance and risk teams to ensure accurate and efficient deal execution.
Key Qualifications / Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience trading middle distillates in Europe, ideally covering NWE/ARA or Mediterranean markets.
- Proven P&L ownership with a track record of profitably managing and expanding a physical trading book.
- Strong commercial network across suppliers, refiners, traders, and logistical partners.
- Understanding of European supply chains, flows, freight and storage dynamics.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider commercial team.
- Fluency in English required; German is an advantage.
