Redstone Commodity Search are working an international trading house is seeking a Commercial Operator to join its metals trading team in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end operations of physical metal trades, ensuring efficient execution and providing strong operational support to the commercial desks.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the full operational cycle of physical metal transactions, from contract execution through to final delivery.
- Coordinate with counterparties, warehouses, shipping companies, and inspection agencies to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
- Monitor shipments, cargo movements, and warehouse stock levels, proactively resolving any operational or logistical issues.
- Ensure strict compliance with contractual terms, internal processes, and international trade regulations.
- Provide operational support to traders, including P&L inputs, cost monitoring, and risk exposure tracking.
Required Experience
- 3–5 years of experience as an Operator within a trading house, with a focus on metals or concentrates.
- Strong knowledge of metals logistics, warehousing, incoterms, and trade documentation (LCs, BLs, invoices, certificates of origin/quality).
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders across global supply chains and resolve operational challenges under time pressure.
- Solid understanding of risk management, compliance requirements, and contract structures in international metal trades.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills; fluency in English is essential, additional Asian languages advantageous.
