Redstone Commodity Search are working a global conglomerate looking to hire a Senior Thermal Coal Trader to join its Singapore desk. This is a senior commercial role with full PnL responsibility across physical and paper thermal coal markets, focused on driving profitability and expanding market share across Asia Pacific.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage a standalone thermal coal trading book with full PnL responsibility
- Originate and execute physical transactions across key Asian markets
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with miners, utilities, industrial end users and brokers
- Optimise cargo flows, freight exposure and blending strategies to maximise margins
- Work closely with risk, operations and finance to ensure robust governance and performance reporting
Key Experience
- Minimum five years of thermal coal trading experience within a reputable trading house or producer
- Demonstrated track record of generating consistent PnL across varying market cycles
- Strong relationships across Asian suppliers and end users
- Deep understanding of freight, logistics, quality specifications and paper hedging instruments
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate autonomously within a risk framework
